POP BEAT
A solo exhibition by Iness Kaplun, curated by Lucia Maldonado and Felipe Santamaria
PRICE LIST HERE

In this solo exhibition, artist Iness Kaplun explores the fleeting nature of love and desire in our consumer-driven world. Using pop art icons, Kaplun highlights how temporary love can be in an age of constant consumption.
"Pop" is something that appears suddenly and doesn't last long, while "Beat" is just one heartbeat. The heart symbolizes love and desire, from sexual attraction to liking something in a store window.
Kaplun shows how love can be as short-lived and consumable as the products we buy, making us think about our never-ending desires and the search for something that never seems to be enough.
Her resin-coated pieces shine with attraction. Skulls in her work symbolize the brief nature of love and desire, which lose their appeal once satisfied. Using cut-outs from comics, newspapers, and magazines, she creates popular icons, blending figures and backgrounds in a seamless dance.
To fully appreciate Kaplun's work, you need to get up close and see the story behind the image.
This exhibition features mixed media artworks that embrace pop aesthetics while pondering the connections between love, desire, and culture.
