Curated by Lucia Maldonado and
Felipe Santamaria
Through this exhibition, we aim to showcase the concept of time using the work of three emerging artists. With the work of Kate, Jamie, and Alejandro, we present three characteristics of time: memory, nostalgia, and tradition.
Kate Keery works with images that remind her of her childhood on the coasts of Massachusetts. She transforms these memories into acrylic paintings on canvas, depicting sunbathers by the sea.

Alejandro Meza, born in Oaxaca, Mexico, grew up in a culture rich in tradition, which he reflects in images of animals and skeletons. His work, in oil on canvas and monotypes, continues the tradition of the Oaxacan school, highlighting the persistence of these customs through time.

Jamie Holder creates paintings that evoke the decades of the 50s and 60s, with scenes reminiscent of classic Hollywood movies or theater posters. His oils reveal his background as an illustrator, presenting time as a memory filled with nostalgia for a bygone era of splendor.
Together, these three artists use their talent in painting to confront the viewer with their own perception of time, facing two temporalities: that of the viewer and that contained in the presented work, face to face, in "Time to Time."

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Kate Keery is an American painter living in Brooklyn, New York. Her oil and acrylic paintings capture everyday human interactions inspired by her coastal upbringing on the North Shore of Massachusetts. With a romantic style and hyper-realistic technique, she uncovers beauty in the insignificant, highlighting the magic in unnoticed intimate moments. Keery studied painting at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and Florence University of the Arts. Besides being a painter, she has experience as a curator and art instructor. Keery has also worked with underprivileged populations globally, teaching art techniques as a tool to speak out against climate injustice and gender discrimination.
Alejandro Meza is a contemporary painter currently living in New York City. He received a BA in Visual Arts at the National School of Fine Arts in Mexico City, ‘La Esmeralda.’ Meza creates new iconography in order to address aspects of syncretism and tradition that influence contemporary cultural identity.
Jamie W. Holder, born in Greenpoint, Brooklyn in 1964, developed a passion for art through comic books, sci-fi, and horror movies, which trained his eye for composition and contrast. Influenced by Bridgman's and Marvel's drawing guides, he honed his skills at the High School of Art and Design, the Art Students League, and Pratt Institute. Holder has illustrated book covers and worked as an artist assistant for 13 years. He is now focused on creating his own graphics company for online comic books and fine art posters.
